The legendary Welsh singer - who is soon set to release the album 'Praise and Blame' - revealed he has been in talks with the band's frontman Brandon Flowers about the possibility of working together in the future.
He told NME.com: "I've spoken to Brandon Flowers. He said he admired what I'd done in my career. There's a connection there because he's from Las Vegas, and of course I've performed there so many times over the years."
However, the 'She's A Lady' hitmaker admitted he is only willing to collaborate with the chart-topping band if they can find the right track for him.
He said: "The material has to be right. That's always been my main concern, with whichever people I've worked with."
In the past, Tom, 70, has collaborated with the likes of Stereophonics' frontman Kelly Jones and Nina Persson from The Cardigans, as well as scoring a UK number seven hit alongside British electronic dance act Chicane with 'Stoned In Love'.
However, the iconic crooner recently admitted he has toned down his raunchy dance routines in recent years.
He explained: "I don't want to act like I'm 28. I don't want to be over the top. I still move but not to the extent I used to when I was young. It looks a bit silly like that. But I can move if I want to.
