Jones scrapped concerts and fell into a deep depression after his wife Linda lost her cancer battle in April (16), and it took the call to return to The Voice to bring him back to life after the tragedy.

"The busier I am, the better I feel," he tells The Sun. "The Voice is definitely part of that."

And Sir Tom, who was axed as a coach on the show after four years in 2015, is now determined to get back onstage - and do what he does best.

"I didn't know whether I’d be able to sing again or not," he adds. "It was devastating. I’ve got back on the stage. That first step was a big one. Now I realise music is saving my life.

"It's even more important to me than before."
