Oscar-winning British director Tom Hooper is hoping to step out of the spotlight after the upcoming Academy Awards by swapping Hollywood for the West End.
The King's Speech moviemaker has enjoyed huge success with his latest box office hit, the movie adaptation of Les Miserables, which is nominated for eight awards at the Oscars later this month (24Feb13).
However, Hooper is planning to take a long break after the ceremony and he hopes to work on a much smaller project, such as directing a play in London's West End.
He tells the London Evening Standard newspaper, "I'd love to direct a play... In six months time I may decide to do something ridiculously hard. I just want some time off now."
