Actor Tom Hanks is re-teaming with Steven Spielberg to make a new Tv miniseries about World War Ii.

The pair's as-yet-untitled show for America's HBO network will tell the story of aerial wars fought by bombers enlisted in the U.S.' Eighth Air Force, nicknamed The Mighty Eighth.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo's miniseries will be based on historian Donald L. Miller's non-fiction book Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany.

Spielberg and Hanks will serve as executive producers on the Tv epic, which follows several previous World War Ii collaborations together - multi-Oscar winning 1998 movie Saving Private Ryan, hit miniseries Band of Brothers in 2001, and 2010's The Pacific.
