Guitarist Tom DeLonge decided to form his new band ANGELS AND AIRWAYS after experiencing a "weird epiphany" on the road with BLINK-182, and he's confident the project will be a phenomenal success.

Following February's (05) announcement Blink-182 are taking an "indefinite hiatus", Delonge immediately set about pursuing a musical vision he believes came to him from a supernatural source.

And the rocker is amazed by the resulting Angels And Airways music.

Delonge says, "Just before all the Blink-182 s**t happened when we were in Europe (in late 2004), I had a really weird epiphany. I really felt I'd been touched by something and I felt like I was meant to do something massive.

"My heart was beating at about 100 miles a minute for three weeks straight and it had never happened to me before in my life. I really felt like I'd been touched by something and I felt like I was meant to do something massive.

"As this new record started coming together, it was so beyond my expectations. I honestly think that people are going to flip out when they hear this.

"It's so much better that anything I've ever done and I think that people will suspect that God came down and wrote half of it!

"I always thought Blink-182 was my life but I've realised that it wasn't, it was just the first stepping stone."
