The professional dance partner of Strictly Come Dancing's 2008 winner Tom Chambers is to quit the show.
Camilla Dallerup told the News of the World her win had drawn a line under her six years of performing on the BBC1 programme.
"It's seen my highest and lowest points," she told the tabloid.
"I've had an amazing time and met some fantastic people, but all great things eventually have to come to an end."
The 34-year-old's victory with Holby City star Chambers is not the reason for her departure, however.
She said she had been considering the move for several months and finally decided before the controversial semi-final in which she and Chambers were nearly barred from the final because of a voting controversy.
"I need to give other things a go before I settle down and have a family," she explained.
"Winning the show was just the icing on the cake. I've always been told to leave a party when you're having a good time."
In the show's first series winner Natasha Kaplinsky's romance with dance partner Brendan Cole, Dallerup's boyfriend at the time, marred her view of the show, she revealed.
"It took three years before I could enjoy it again because of the bad memories. But this win has put a full stop on that chapter of my life," she added.
