TLC star Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins has opened up about the band's famous stand-off with music mogul Clive Davis, revealing it is true they ambushed the record boss and held him hostage over a money dispute.
The Waterfalls singer claims Arista Records bosses tried to play the incident down - but she and her bandmates really did lock Davis in his office and demand a fair share of the profits from their success.
She tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood Live, "They made $75 million... and we only got, like, $50,000 apiece... so we kinda had to go up there and say, 'Hey, who has our money?'"
And Watkins reveals they went with back-up - late bandmate Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes' prison pals joined them.
She adds, "We got the girls who Lisa was locked up with... all her cell mates; she made friends that year. We rolled up to Arista and the limo driver was our getaway car (sic). We took all the plaques down and we wanted to know who had our money.
"The police came, no one got arrested and we got our money, some of it... It was in the millions."
