19 Kids And Counting stars the Duggar family can breathe a sigh of relief after a woman who alleged that she had "intimate" photos of one of the members of the famous clan was charged with extortion by Iowa police.
The woman - named as Teresa Hunt - reportedly requested that the network TLC cancel the family's show or pay her $10,000. If they didn't she threatened to reveal pictures of one cast member in "intimate situations" with a musician to national magazines. Local press the Quad-City Times reports that an envelope was investigated by the Fbi which had been sent to Discovery Communications, who are Tlc's parent company. Within it were a business card, a typed letter and a handwritten note. The business card reportedly was for a business called Perfect Pictures and the name on the card was that of Hunt's. The letter explained a professional relationship that Hunt had with a 56 year-old musician including details of his affair with the '19 Kids And Counting' cast member. The handwritten note meanwhile read "You new to get ... off of 19 and Counting. Cancel that show or pay me off from exposing this story to the National Magazines". (sic)
Reacting to the news, Amy Duggar released a statement that read "It's totally untrue, [the musician] is a long time family friend who has always been supportive of my music career. He's a good Christian and it's upsetting that his generosity has been exploited like this".
