Hip-hop producer Timbaland has scored the second biggest leap to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts after taking his new tune GIVE IT TO ME from number 42 to number one.
The track, which features Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, picked up 248,000 digital downloads to help its surge to number one.
Only Kelly Clarkson has managed a greater jump up the chart when her American Idol song A Moment Like This, which jumped from 52 to number one.
Former charttopper Akon's Don't Matter slips to two, while Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape, which also features Akon, rounds out the new top three.
Linkin Park's What I've Done is the countdown's top debut at number seven. It marks the rock group's first top 10 hit in five years.
Give It To Me is also predicted to hit the top spot in the UK singles chart on Sunday (15Apr07).
