Tim Allen has signed on to star in a new comedy pilot for ABC.
TIM ALLEN, the American actor and comedian, is set to star in a new comedy pilot tentatively titled 'The Last Days of Man', according to Entertainment Weekly.Allen is perhaps best known for starring in the hugely popular sitcom 'Home Improvement' between 1991 and 1999, but he has also voiced the character of 'Buzz Lightyear' in the 'Toy Story' franchise and played Father Christmas in 'The Santa Clause' trilogy. The new pilot is said to focus on a man who is "struggling for his manhood" in a world that has become dominated by women. 20th Century Fox and Lost Marbles are set to produce the episode and the script has been penned by EMMY AWARD winning JACK BURDITT, who has previously contributed to 'The Mike O'Malley Show' and 'Inside Schwartz'.
The actor recently hit the headlines after being included in Ricky Gervais' controversial hosting of the GOLDEN GLOBES. Gervais introduced Tom Hanks and Allen on to the stage by reeling off a long list of Hanks' awards and honours before jokingly looking on the back of his cue cards in search of Allen's career achievements.
