Thus Owls - As Long As We Try A Little
Montreal duo Thus Owls will release their new album 'Turning Rocks' on April 8th 2014, but now unleash a peculiar video for their newest track 'As Long As We Try A Little'. The pair are set to hit to road in North America at the end of March.
The video, directed by Joe Yarmush of Suuns, features two men in sunglasses who are both carrying compact card holders - one of which contains an image of the moon. They receive a mysterious note at their home and they venture out into the snow where they meet two people who hand over a moon photograph to the man with the empty compact. The sentiment behind the visual doesn't immediately stand out, but the song itself is appropriately profound. There's an eerie folk sound to the breathy vocals which are accompanied by harmonies and a slow piano, and so the grey chill of the video's backdrop is enhanced.
Thus Owls are married couple Erika and Simon Angell who have been making music together since they bumped into each other while both playing a gig. They have one show in London and one in Amsterdam coming up in March before they head out across the US and Canada.
