It may not have lived up to expectations -- particularly Simon Cowell's expectations -- but The X Factor was being credited with helping to lift Fox's ratings among the key demographic group of 18-49 year-olds 15 percent above last November and giving the network a win in that category in the November sweeps period. It was also up 11 percent in total adults, the only network to post an increase in that category. CBS, however, was the most-watched network among total adults, averaging 11.4 million viewers, down 3 percent from a year ago, but it was up 4 percent among viewers 18-49. NBC's numbers in the demo remained flat with last year, while ABC's declined 4 percent.
