Preview performances of a new musical based on The X Factor have been cancelled due to "technical" issues.
The musical, titled I Can't Sing!, is due to premiere in London's West End in March (14) but was set to be preceded by two preview performances at the capital's Palladium theatre on Thursday (27Feb14) and Friday (28Feb14).
The early performances have now been scrapped by the show's production team to give them more time to work on the complicated technical features of the performance.
Producer for Stage Entertainment U.K. Rebecca Quigley says, "After much careful thought and discussion we've decided that we need to take some more time to work on technical aspects of I Can't Sing! at the Palladium. As audiences will soon see the production is hugely ambitious, and the volume of installation and scale of the set means that technical work has taken slightly longer than could have been anticipated to make the show audience-ready."
Fans with tickets for the preview performances are able to exchange them for another performance or are entitled to a refund if they are unable to attend any other show.
I Can't Sing! was written by British Tv funnyman Harry Hill and received financial backing from music mogul Simon Cowell despite the fact that it mercilessly mocks the Tv talent show he created.
