The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos was reportedly threatened during auditions for the show on Thursday (7th June 2011) after she stopped a singer's performance. Tulisa had to be protected by security staff at London's O2 Arena after the disgruntled singer attempted to square up to the N-Dubz star.
According to the UK's Sun newspaper, 19-year-old George Gerasimou turned nasty after Tulisa put a stop to his performance of Ne-YO's 'Give Me Everything'. The singer, who told Simon Cowell to "shut up" after his failed audition in 2009, reacted angrily to Contostavlos' criticism. Jumping down the stage, he began yelling, "You're just a scumbag from Camden replacing Cheryl on the panel". He was ushered away by security staff before he was able to approach the judging panel. An eyewitness at the audition said, "He really squared up to Tulisa. Staff had to intervene to tell him to get back on the stage. It was pretty hairy".
Tulisa Contostavlos is part of the new-look X-Factor judging panel for the upcoming series, also featuring Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland and the Take That singer Gary Barlow. Veteran judge Louis Walsh reprises his long-running role on the hit singing contest.
