An aspiring singer competing for a place on Australia's The X Factor collapsed and died during the show's auditions in Sydney last week (ends27Jan13).
New Zealand-born Edward Andrews, 33, suffered a suspected heart attack while rehearsing a song as he prepared to perform for the show's producers at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday (25Jan13).
He was treated by paramedics but later pronounced dead at the city's St Vincent's Hospital. His funeral will be held later this week (beg28Jan13).
The Australian version of the show features former Spice Girls star Melanie Brown on the judging panel, alongside Irish singer Ronan Keating and Australian stars Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Guy Sebastian.
