Former The Wonder Stuff drummer MARTIN GILKS died after crashing his motorbike while driving at 47 miles per hour (75 kilometres per hour) in an area with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour (48 kilometres per hour), an inquest heard yesterday (31AUG06). The SIZE OF A COW star lost control of his bike in Wandsworth, London in April (06) and died the following day. Pillion rider ERICA BOYLE broke her leg in the accident. Motorist witness TIM DUNN, 25, told the hearing, "He was right on my tail, speeding. He was a muppet." A verdict of traumatic road death was recorded by Westminster deputy coroner Dr SHIRLEY RADCLIFFE.
