The Who stars Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend descended on Washington, D.C. on Monday (12Nov12) to raise awareness of their U.S. teenage cancer charity.

The rockers have been raising money for patients in Britain for 20 years with their Teenage Cancer Trust, and they brought their work Stateside by launching Who Cares: Teen Cancer America last year (Nov11).

The pair visited the country's capital to give a talk at the National Press Club to rally support for the initiative, which works with hospitals to offer help for patients aged 13 to 24.

In a passionate speech, Daltrey explained that Who Cares relies solely on charitable donations and told how 16 youngsters have been treated in the organisation's first U.S. facility, launched in California last November (11).

When asked whether The Who planned to put on a show for their teenage beneficiaries, Daltrey quipped, "We might kill off the rest of the hospital!"
