The Who frontman Roger Daltrey is determined to sing until he drops dead in the style of his hero Johnny Cash, as he insists the best of his career is yet to come.

The 60-year-old rocker may have growled, "Hope I die before I get old" in his 1965 hit My Generation, but now he is at an age when most people are looking forward to retirement, he is making the most of his maturing voice.

He says, "I don't want to stop singing, my voice is still there, and there's bits of my voice I haven't used. I'd just like to explore a lot more.

"I'd like to end up like Johnny Cash, croaking away in his last years, and doing his best work. That's not bad is it?"
