An album of solo songs by The Who's late bassist JOHN ENTWISTLE will be released to mark what would have been his 60th birthday.

Entwistle - nicknamed THE OX - died from a heart attack in a Las Vegas hotel in June 2002 as he was preparing for an American tour with surviving bandmates pete townsend and Roger Daltrey.

SANCTUARY RECORDS will release JOHN ENTWISTLE: SO WHO'S THE BASS PLAYER? - THE OX ANTHOLOGY, a compilation of the best material from his four solo albums, in Britain on 14 March (05).
