The 'Walks Like Rihanna' hitmakers and the 'One Thing' singers have been locked in a war of words for months, but Nathan Sykes has hinted the groups could record a song together at some point in the future.
Speaking about the possibility of the boy bands working together, he told MTV News: ''You never know, you never know! I think with Backstreet Boys and New Kids [On The Block], that's really cool what they did, and there's been some great collaborations. You never know.''
The 20-year-old star also insisted The Wanted have moved on from their public rivalry with 1D members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne.

''I think it's best people really concentrate on the success that we're both having and how well [we're doing], which is always great.''
Nathan - who, along with band mates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker, premiered new single 'We Own The Night' earlier this week - even complimented the 'Best Song Ever' hitmakers on their global success.
He said: ''I think ourselves and One Direction have done really well to make sure the music stands up on its own.
''And I think with boy bands it's very easy for people to say, 'Oh, they sell a lot of posters. Oh, the kids buy it because they like the look of the guys.'
''I think it's all down to the music and - it is down to the girls because they're amazing - but I think it also helps we've got really great songs and we're really lucky to work with such amazing writers.''
