In November (14), the British star released his debut album Idris Elba Presents mi Mandela, inspired by the South African leader he portrayed in 2013 biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, on the Parlophone label, and he had hoped to follow it up with more discs.

However, Elba has now revealed he is no longer with the label, but he is refusing to let the setback stop his music career, telling Britain's The Sun newspaper, "It's a risk to make a record with an actor and not everyone's going to believe in that.

"In an industry that's suffering, they have to put their money with the winners... If I didn't get signed again, it wouldn't stop me making another album. I'd just find another way to fund it."
