The Sopranos actor Steve Van Zandt is going ahead with a concert film celebrating country legend WAYLON JENNINGS - despite American cable network Showtime's refusal to air the show.

The composer, who plays SILVIO DANTE on the American TV mob drama, has rallied fellow musical pals Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Kid Rock, Norah Jones, Beck and THE White Stripes for the special in honour of Jennings - who died on 13 February (02) due to diabetes complications.

The Soprano's Drea de Matteo is teaming up with Zandt for the event.

De Matteo says, "So now you Showtime people can go f*** yourself."
