Cartoon favourite The Simpsons are to arrive in homes across America after being honoured with their own stamps, it has been announced.
The US Postal Service confirmed Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie will each have their own 44 cent (31p) stamp.
The family - the stars of one of the longest-running series in television history - will appear on the stamps later this year, with preview images shown on the postal service website on April 9th.
"The Simpsons are American icons, quite frankly," said United States Postal Services spokesman Mark Saunders.
"We're excited about it, and we think America will be, too. It's a great opportunity for us to reach a new generation of stamp enthusiasts."
The stamp celebration comes as the show nears its 20th anniversary, with the first of its 400 plus episodes shown in December 1989.
