New York rockers The Rapture were temporarily left without a frontman after Luke Jenner quit the band to deal with his mother's suicide.
The dance/punk stars were in the midst of recording their new album, In the Grace of Your Love, when singer/guitarist Jenner felt emotionally overwhelmed and decided to walk out on the group to come to terms with the tragedy.
He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "My mum had been really mentally ill for a long time, then she took her own life. I had recently become a father as well and I couldn't fake it any more… I tried really hard for a few years to pretend everything was alright, but it wasn't."
Jenner eventually returned to the band after three months and he went on to complete the disc with bandmates Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi.
Their fourth album was released in September (11).
