Scottish singing duo The Proclaimers have turned down lucrative concerts in the U.S. to watch their beloved soccer team play a vital match.
The I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) hitmakers were offered the chance to stage acoustic shows Stateside, but they declined the gigs as they would rather watch their favoured club, Hibernian F.C, play against arch-rivals Aberdeen on Saturday (14Apr12) in a bid to land the coveted Scottish Cup.
Singer Charlie Reid tells Britain's Daily Record, "Any true Hibs supporter would say the same if it was between personal gain or the cup. Twenty million record sales or the cup? (I would choose) the Scottish Cup and the sad thing is, I mean it.
"We have had hit records, but we have never had the cup. There was an option for the weekend of this season's final to do some accoustic stuff in America.
"We thought about it but thought we would leave it, just in case. We joke every year when we are touring that we'll leave the Scottish Cup final day free, but every year we lose a semi-final or a quarter-final. You never know this time and I think we have every chance against Aberdeen."
