Tripping over when wearing high heels – we’ve all done it. But most of us haven’t fallen over on live television or, in the process, smashed a lightbulb with our butts. Unfortunately for model Amber Lancaster, that’s exactly what happened during Friday’s (23rd October) live episode of The Price Is Right.

Former The Price Is Right model Brandi Cochran has had her $7.7 million jury award for pregnancy discrimination taken away, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cochran received the money after a jury ruled in her favor in her lawsuit against Price Is Right management. According to the suit, after Cochran got pregnant, the producers of the show treated her poorly, making comments about her weight gain and removing her from the show’s website. Eventually, all this resulted in Cochran’s firing from The Price Is Right. After the jury was deadlocked a few times, they finally reached a decision and awarded Cochran the money, according to Lawyers.com. This all happened last year in November.

That would have been the end of it, however, two months later their decision was overruled by the California Supreme Court, on the grounds that the judge did not give the jury members all of the necessary information in the case. According to the court, in order for discrimination laws to apply, Cochran’s pregnancy has to be a significant motivating factor in her firing, which her legal representative did not prove it was. Hence, no discrimination money. If Cochran wants the money, she will have to go through the entire process of a lawsuit all over again.

The former The Price Is Right model Brandi Cochran has been successful in her lawsuit against the show’s producers.

Cochran claimed that her contract was wrongfully terminated when she fell pregnant and was forced to take disability leave when she suffered complications in her pregnancy. When she suffered a miscarriage after one pregnancy, she was reportedly told by one of the show’s producers that a miscarriage was “nature’s way of getting rid of a bad baby.”

TMZ reports that Brandi will be in receipt of a pay-out to the tune of $775,000. This amount could well increase if it can be proven that the producers acted with malicious intent. In her case, Cochran stated that one co-worker would announce her arrival, when she was pregnant, by saying “wide load coming through!” It was whilst she was on disability leave during her second pregnancy that she claims she was squeezed out of her job.
