Cult rockers the Pixies and The Strokes star Julian Casablancas have been added to the line-up of the Coachella Music Festival, which kicks off on Friday (11Apr14).

The annual two-weekend event attracts the biggest names in music to the desert of California, and just days before the 2014 festival begins, organisers have added The Pixies and Casablancas to the list.

The Pixies' upcoming gig at Coachella marks the 10 year anniversary of when the Velouria hitmakers delighted fans with their on-stage reunion in 2004.

Last month (Mar14), the band announced they are planning to release their first full-length studio album in 23 years in late April (14).

Casablancas is no stranger to the festival either - The Strokes played at Coachella in 2011.

While the Pixies and Casablancas are set to take to the stage on Saturday (12Apr14), newly reunited rap duo Outkast, English rockers Muse, and Canadian band Arcade Fire are all set to headline the festival, which runs 11-13 April (14) and 18-20 April (14).
