The Muppets are back in the hands of the HENSON family after three years.
Creator Jim Henson's family sold KERMIT, MISS PIGGY and co to German media company EM.TV + Merchandising AG in 2000, but have now bought back what's left of the name.
The deal brings a two-year hunt for a buyer to a close.
Five members of Henson's estate, including siblings BRIAN and Lisa Henson, will take control of the 45-year-old Muppet empire, and they're planning to make TV's favourite puppets great again.
BRIAN HENSON says, "We will be actively exploring new and expanded strategic relationships."
The Hensons beat Disney to secure the Muppets name in an auction that has rumbled on for the past two years.08/05/2003 01:44
