The Scottish star was convinced he was going to die a watery death when he was dragged to the bottom of the ocean - and subsequently had to conquer the traumatic memories in order to film his latest movie ON A CLEAR DAY, in which he plays a man who swims the English Channel.
He recalls, "It was horrible, I was trapped on the sea bed, being held down by a wave and I thought, 'Is it going to end like this?'
"I was honestly just sitting on the bottom of the sea thinking, 'I can't move. What am I going to do here?'
"You just have to hope that the wave passes in time and when it did, I just swam to the light."15/07/2005 01:55
