The Killers poked fun at Kanye West's MTV Video Music Awards stage invasion at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday night (16Sep09) when a crew member interrupted the band's encore to hail support act the Psychedelic Furs.
The Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers, appeared stunned when the unnamed man ran on to the stage from the wings and declared, "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time and the Psychedelic Furs had one of the best songs of all time."
But it became clear the moment was set up when Richard Butler's band joined the headliners onstage for a rendition of their 1980s anthem Pretty In Pink.
Rapper West hit the headlines when he stormed onstage at the VMAs in New York on Sunday (13Sep09) to protest Taylor Swift's Best Female Video win. He stated his pal Beyonce should have won the prize, declaring, "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
The sold-out Killers show at the Bowl was a true spectacular with the Las Vegas band ripping through hits like Human, Mr. Brightside, Spaceman and When We Were Young, the song that closed the show.
