Cult indie rockers The Jesus & Mary Chain will release their first album in 18 years in 2017.
William and Jim Reid regrouped their band a decade ago for a Coachella festival performance, and now they are putting the finishing touches to their seventh studio album - the long-awaited follow-up to 1998's Munki.
Alan MCGee, their former record label boss at Creation, broke the news during an interview on Canada's CBC Music, insisting, "It's a big deal!"
"It's unbelievable," he added. "They've just made an album and I've signed them to Warners (Warner Bros.)! It's kinda enormous."
Jim Reid told Time Out New York the band was back in the studio last year (15), stating, "We actually just started recording. It's early days, but I would say it's a more mature sound for the Mary Chain. But let's just wait and see."
