The Heartbreaks will release their second album 'We May Yet Stand A Chance' on 2nd June via Nusic Sounds.
Emerging less than quietly in 2012, The Heartbreaks caused a stir from the shores of Morecambe to the bright lights of London and hustle and bustle of Japan with their debut album 'Funtimes'. With fans including Bono, Morrissey and Hurts, having toured with both of the latter across Europe, a #1 single in Japan with 'Delay, Delay' and fashion plaudits from Saint Laurent's Hedi Slimane and Burberry's Christopher Bailey ("I love their energy, effortless style and very British attitude"), the band returned this January with new single 'Hey, Hey Lover'.
The Heartbreaks will release their second album 'We May Yet Stand A Chance', produced by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) this June. Lyrically, the album is full of honest sentiment and deals with the issues of the demise of character, charm, passion, political opinion, conviction and commitment, with the title and cover expressing the notion that there may yet be hope when there appears to be none.
Musically the album is full of Cowboy Psychedelia, girl-group Motown and Echo and the Bunnymen atmospherics and is a majestic, life-affirming pop record of widescreen, triumphant melancholia. The single 'Absolved' will precede the album on 25th May and is an all-encompassing pop hit with poignant Motown strings and a gushing chorus of urgent, crooning vocals. The full album tracklisting is as follows:
1. Paint The Town Beige
3. Hey, Hey Lover
4. Robert Jordan
5. ¡No Pasarán!
7. Fair Stood The Wind
8. Man Overboard
9. This Is Not Entertainment
11. Dying Sun
