eels frontman MARK OLIVER EVERETT still resents his mother for refusing to grow up and accept her parental responsibilities - because he lost his childhood looking after her.
The I LIKE BIRDS singer, famously known as E, put a childhood photo of his mum NANCY on the cover of his BLINKING LIGHTS album, because he never considered her an adult.
He complains, "It meant that me and my sister ELIZABETH didn't really have a chance to be children at all.
"My mom assumed we'd learn by trial and error, so she left us to our own devices.
"It was a terrible, terrible idea. For a child to learn everything the hard way, makes them incredibly insecure. They have no foundation at all."18/04/2005 21:43
