British rockers The Darkness are far from disappointed at their failure to become the British Christmas number one - because they've had their best week of sales ever.
The CHRISTMAS TIME (DON'T LET THE BELLS END) hitmakers were narrowly beaten in the festive race by American musician Gary Jules and his cover of Tears For Fears classic Mad World. But the band - fronted by spandex-clad hunk JUSTIN HAWKINS - have discovered that sales for their album PERMISSION TO LAND have now hit the one million mark.
A source close to the band says, "It's the album that is important for them. The boys have sold 90,000 copies in the last week. It seems everyone is going to have Permission To Land in their Christmas stockings.
"The band are on holiday in a secret location but they can't wait to get back on tour in the New Year (04)."22/12/2003 14:13
