Brat pack movie The Breakfast Club has been voted the top teen film of all time.

The 80s classic - based on a group of students given a Saturday morning detention - beat more recent comedies American Pie and SCREAM in the poll of 5,000 film fans run by British retail giants WOOLWORTHS.

The Breakfast Club featured rising stars Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald and ALLY SHEEDY - who were part of a group of actors known as the Brat Pack. However the actors have failed to sustain the success they enjoyed in the 1985 John Hughes movie.

Ringwald famously turned down Julia Roberts's role in Pretty Woman although Estevez did enjoy success in the 1988 western Young Guns and its sequel.

FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF starring Matthew Broderick came second, while the Christian Slater movie Pump Up the Volume was voted third.
