The Capital cosmopolitan and crisp indie outfit The Boxer Rebellion has drawn members from America and Australia, to clash in London and have produced a thoughtful number based around the Guy Garvey(ish) vocals of Nathan Robertson. The subject matter of running and indeed rushing through life is aired with help from tingling instrumentals. This nimble and hearty number is likely to be the final
release before Boxer’s eagerly awaited debut album hits the stores this autumn. Should the album sound as uplifting as this offering (despite its slightly dreary subject matter)? The autumn leaves will rise from the ground back to the trees. Boxer Rebellion’s best release so far; ‘Watermelon’ has shared a disc with tunes from The Libertines, Razorlight and The Buzzcocks on ‘The Football Factory Soundtrack’ album. It seems like Da Rebellion has merely stepped into the ring, it is going to be a long fight.
