Terrence Howard has been ordered to stay 100 yards (90 metres) away from his estranged wife by a court order, following her claims of domestic abuse at the hands of the Hollywood actor.
Michelle Howard sent a text message in which she claimed her husband had repeatedly hit and threatened her, leading her to live in constant fear of him; a court hearing is set for January 17th next year and the actor has been ordered to maintain the restraining order until then. The Associated Press reports that Howard wrote, "Despite my efforts to remove myself physically from (Howard's) life, his periodic mood swings from anger, threats and violence to statements of love and requests for reconciliation continue and have not subsided," she also claimed that at one point he'd urged her not to pursue with the court case for fear of it ruining his career, apparently saying "I can't promise how I will respond."
However 42 year-old Terrence has fiercely denied the allegations in a sworn statement, saying "I live in constant fear of Michelle's endeavors to ruin my reputation; even providing this declaration may well lead to my being subjected to a paparazzi blitz which would not be good for my career." Abuse allegedly began just a week into the couple's marriage in January 2010, Michelle then filed for divorce a year later.
