A charity is trying to block the release of satirical puppet picture TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE - because they share the same name.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania fund-raising organisation Team America claim it has the rights to the name and is trying to gain a restraining order on the movie - which is due to hit movie theatres today (15OCT04).

But sources insists the charity has no chance of succeeding.

An insider tells PAGESIX.COM, "It's hilarious. There is a hearing in Philly today, but the movie will open on time."

The film - made by South Park creators Matt Stone and TREY PARKER - has been dogged by controversy since its conception, because it mocks celebrity pacifists who objected to the war in Iraq. Sean Penn wrote an angry letter to Stone and Parker ahead of the release, ending it with "f*** off".
