Taylor Swift dominated the American Music Awards (AMAs) last night (20.11.11), winning three accolades.

The blonde beauty took home the biggest prize of the night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, bagging Artist of the Year, as well as Best Female Artist and Best Album for 'Speak Now' in the Country Music category, which saw the 'Love Story' hitmaker praise her fans and friend Selena Gomez.

She told the crowd the feat was "one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me".

British singer Adele also picked up a triple win, with gongs for Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Album for '21' in the Pop or Rock Music category, as well as Favourite Artist in the Adult Contemporary Music section.

Katy Perry took home a special award for being the first female pop star to have five number one singles from one album - which she managed with her 'Teenage Dream' record - and Nicki Minaj secured a double win by claiming Favourite Artist and Favourite Album for 'Pink Friday' in the Rap/Hip-Hop music section.
