Taylor Swift is ''prioritising'' her famous friendships over a romantic relationship at the moment.

The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker, 24, who is pals with Lena Dunham, Lorde, Selena Gomez and Jaime King, is enjoying spending time with her girlfriends because they take her for who she is and really understand her.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she said: ''[I'm] prioritising my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try. I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am.

''When you're in love you tend to prioritise that other person's opinion and almost value it as much, if not more, thank your own opinion. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you're walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else's input.''

The blonde beauty believes she's so close to her group of friends because she can ''trust them'' and they share similar views and interests.

She explained: ''[We] relate on different levels but the one common thread between all of my friends is I can trust them.''

She added: ''[My friends] aren't really much for going out to bars or clubs or anything. They're not really as interested in that, and I'm not either, so it works out pretty well.''
