Taylor Swift took top honors at the 2011 CMA Awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday (9th November 2011), beating the likes of Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean to win the prestigious 'Entertainer of the Year' prize.

The ceremony, hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley for the fourth consecutive year, was Swift's night, with the country star also performing her song 'Ours'. However, she was surprisingly beaten to the Female Vocalist of the Year award, with Miranda Lambert instead taking the honors in a tough category that also included nominees SARA EVANS, Martina McBride and host Underwood. Other performers at the 45th annual ceremony included Faith Hill, American Idol winner Scotty Mccreery and soul star Lionel Richie, who debuted tracks from his new country album 'Tuskegee'. The former Commodores man sang with country groups Rascal Flatts and Little Big Town, as well as with Darius Rucker, lead singer of rock band Hootie And The Blowfish. Celebrity presenters at the star-studded event included OSCAR-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and actor Kellan Lutz, who's currently promoting Twilight movie 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1'.

The ceremony also included a touching musical tribute to Glen Campbell, the country Hall of Famer who revealed earlier this year that he was battling Alzheimer's disease, for which there is no cure.
