Tatyana Ali glowed on the red carpet as she showed off her baby bump and engagement ring at the 2016 Black Girls Rock! ceremony.
The former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star, who played Ashley Banks on Will Smith's hit TV show, revealed the double dose of good news on Thursday (31Mar16), while telling U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight that she and her fiance, Dr. Vaughn Rasberry, are planning to tie the knot later this year (16).
"Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely," Tatyana said. "We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing!"
The 37-year-old mother-to-be showed off her changing figure on Friday (01Apr16), as she stepped out for the first time since her big announcement to attend the annual BET prizegiving in Newark, New Jersey.
Tatyana wore a form-fitting floor-length blue Zac Posen gown with a plunging neckline for the event, and accessorised with a diamond statement necklace by Pasquale Bruni and her diamond engagement ring as she cradled her growing belly for the cameras.
"On our way to @blackgirlsrock," she tweeted as she shared a snap of herself on her phone, en route to the bash. "I'm so floored by all of the support. Besos (kisses)!!! Trying to answer all of these sweet tweets and messages."
Tatyana and Vaughn began dating just 18 months ago, after meeting on a dating website.
"Vaughn and I met on eHarmony!" she revealed to Entertainment Tonight. "It was my first time dating online. We wrote letters for months before we decided to Skype. And then, of course, met."
Gushing about the proposal, she added, "He took me on a 45-minute hike in the Redwoods (in California), which he knows I absolutely love, and proposed in the most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect."
