The Orange is the New Black star has been working with a sober companion and therapists, while leaning on her friends to help her work through her issues. According to TMZ, the actress is unable to attend rehab because of her schedule, but she is grateful for the steps she is taking towards sobriety.

"I am truly grateful for what some may call hitting rock bottom," she tells the website. "Some days it sucks and some days it sucks worse. I am not ashamed of this obstacle because I have accepted that it is OK to not be OK."

The 37-year-old also has support from her castmates as she works through the difficult time.

"I've never felt more accepted, forgiven, and supported than during this period of my life," she continues. "This is not easy."

Taryn's sobriety struggles come months after the actress sued New York City officials after she was taken into custody in November, 2014 for allegedly making criminal threats against Jeanine Heller, a woman the actress had obtained a restraining order against.

Manning claimed she headed to a local police station with her lawyer to explain the situation and fill them in on her past issues with Heller, who she maintained was actually stalking her, but the cops refused to listen and placed her in a holding cell for several hours.

She was released without charge and the arrest was subsequently voided, but she filed a wrongful arrest lawsuit in February (16), alleging officers leaked the details about her time behind bars to the press.
