Last week (ends09Dec16), Avengers star Cobie booked her first Broadway role, opposite Kevin Kline, in a revival of Noel Coward play Present Laughter, and now The Heat actor Taran has announced he will be joining her on the Great White Way next year (17).

Taran, a former regular on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live, will take over the role of King George III in Lin-Manuel Miranda's critically-acclaimed production in January (17).

Rory O'Malley is currently portraying the British royal onstage, but he will bow out of the show on 15 January (17), allowing Taran to step into his shoes two days later (17Jan17).

Glee star Jonathan Groff and Girls actor Andrew Rannells both previously tackled the part on Broadway.

Meanwhile, Cobie's stint in Present Laughter will begin in March (17).

Taran and Cobie have been married since 2012 and are parents to a son named Shaelyn, who will turn two in January (17).
