British socialite Tamara Ecclestone has made a formal complaint to police after her $480,000 (£300,000) luxury car disappeared from a mechanic's garage.

The 28 year old, whose father is billionaire Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, purchased the Lamborghini Aventador in 2011 while she was dating Omar Khyami, and the vehicle was reportedly put in his name but registered to Ecclestone's address.

Following the couple's split last June (12), Ecclestone discovered a debt needed to be paid off on the car before it could be sold, but Khyami claimed ownership and the case is heading to London's High Court later this year (13).

However, the vehicle has now disappeared from a garage and Ecclestone has spoken to cops about the matter.

She tells Britain's Mail on Sunday, "I made a formal complaint at Notting Hill Gate police station."
