Smashing the $100 million box office mark internationally over the weekend and bringing in some of the best reviews for a Marvel Cinematic Universe release to-date, it's fair to say that director Taika Waititi has made a huge success with his Chris Hemsworth-led film, 'Thor: Ragnarok', especially when compared to the first two solo ventures for the Norse God Avenger.

The box office success is something that's going to continue when the film finally gets its US release on November 3 and we think it could do even bigger numbers than anyone ever imagined, likely cementing Waititi's place in the future of bringing the MCU to life.

Already a smash hit with the critics and faring just as well with the wider viewing public, the third solo entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 'Thor' series, 'Thor: Ragnarok' is without a doubt one of the biggest successes the MCU has seen. The movie sees Chris Hemsworth returning in the titular lead role, alongside such stars as Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk.

One person who may have been brought into the cast if it was up to director Taika Waititi however is Ryan Reynolds, who takes on the mouthy mercenary Deadpool in the MCU. Unfortunately, according to a tweet from the director, that wasn't made possible because of "laws n s**t".

Taika Waititi is set on a course to be the man who reinvigorated the solo 'Thor' film series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bringing a dose of humour and excitement to proceedings in his new MCU film 'Thor: Ragnarok', critics have rallied behind his vision and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already confirmed he'd love to work with the director again in the near future.
