Javona Glover was shopping at a Walgreens store in Tallahassee on Tuesday morning (30Aug16) when she was attacked.

Police were called to the scene, where the 23-year-old was found bleeding heavily. She subsequently lost her life, according to TMZ.com.

Authorities have described the suspect as a 160-pound (72.6 kilogram) black male, around five foot, nine inches (1.75 metres) tall, who was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and white sneakers.

After the news hit headlines, T-Pain took to Twitter to beg his followers for help.

"The police are still lookin for the coward a** n**ga that just killed my niece at Walgreens in Tallahassee," he wrote. "If you got info pls (please) help us out (sic)".

The Can't Believe It hitmaker also pleaded with the press to allow the star and his relatives to grieve in peace.

He added, "To all the media/news outlets and bloggers in Tallahassee: pls leave my family the f**k alone. We're not here for your story. Let us be pls".

Cops have yet to reveal the suspect's motive for killing Glover, a mother of one.
