Movie hardman Sylvester Stallone is taking his The Expendables franchise to Tv for a new action drama.

The Rambo star has signed a deal with Fox network executives in the U.S. to develop the Tv series, which will unite iconic small screen action stars on a mission to stop a dangerous terrorist, reports

Ride Along screenwriter Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward will pen the script with showrunner Shane Brennan, while Stallone will serve as the show's executive producer, alongside the films' producer, Avi Lerner.

Casting details have yet to be announced.

Stallone launched first The Expendables movie with Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke in 2010.

He has since released two sequels, which also featured big screen action icons Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
