Sylvester Stallone has been hit with a temporary restraining order banning him from approaching a contractor he's suing over a botched home repair deal.

The action veteran filed suit against Mohamed Hadid last year (12), claiming the builder cheated him out of more than $1 million (£625,000) after allegedly completing sub-par work on his Los Angeles mansion in 2009.

The case is due to go to trial, but the fight has since turned ugly - Hadid has accused Stallone of threatening his life during a recent court confrontation, suggesting the Rocky star walked up to him, pushed him and spat, "I am going to kill you motherf**ker."

The contractor immediately filed papers requesting a protective order and the motion has now been granted, according to

However, Stallone's lawyer Marty Singer is adamant Hadid is making up the accusations - and insists he is just trying to smear the movie star's reputation.

Singer tells Tmz that Hadid sat for his deposition last week (ends29Mar13) and failed to mention anything about the alleged threats, adding, "This is a desperate attempt by a man who wants to be a media star, which is why he's a guest star on (reality Tv show) Shahs of Sunset."

Hadid had actually been recommended to Stallone by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills regular Lisa Vanderpump.
