Hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz has been honoured for his extensive work with children's charities.
Alicia Keys' husband was feted at the Children's Rights Benefit in New York on Wednesday (10Oct12) in recognition of his support and fundraising efforts for organisations such as the Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation and the educational Get Schooled Foundation.
Beatz, who was recently appointed the global ambassador for New York's public hospitals, was joined on the red carpet by event co-chair Nick Cannon and Run-D.M.C. icon, Darryl 'D.M.C.' MCDaniels, a Children's Rights boardmember who also served as emcee at the bash.
Taking to his Twitter.com blog after the gala, Swizz Beatz wrote, "What a (sic) honor to be honored tonight! The best thing you can do in life is to give back!"
The annual event raised funds for the Children's Rights Foundation's various campaigns, which aim to defend the lives and legal rights of abused and neglected children in foster care across the U.S.
